Sanctions are imposed on damaging the symbols of Georgia's partner countries. The issue was discussed by the Parliamentary Bureau.

According to the draft law, the relevant legal basis will be created and any purposeful damage to the official symbol of the European Union, the North Atlantic Treaty or the international organizations of which Georgia is a member, as well as the national symbol of the state with which Georgia has diplomatic relations will result in a fine of GEL 1,000 for the violator.

The amendments stipulate that committing the above-mentioned action again will result in a fine of GEL 2,000 for the violator or administrative detention for up to 15 days.
