"I do not want you to go to prison ... you have to come to your senses soon" ... - Mikheil Saakashvili to "Dream"

The Ukrainian court has sentenced a former head of the Ukrainian Border Guard Service and his deputy. The case concerns the illegal kidnapping, torture and illegal deportation of Mikheil Saakashvili in February 2018.

The detainees have already been stripped of their ranks as military generals and colonels and are now facing years of imprisonment. According to Mikheil Saakashvili's lawyers, the accused are trying to prolong the time and hope that the Ukrainian government will change before the end of the trial.

Mikheil Saakashvili attended the trial for the first time today and said in his speech that former President Poroshenko should sit on the bench along with the former military.

He also addressed the members of the "Georgian Dream": "I do not want you to go to prison ... you must come to your senses soon. It is time, that is king, not kings themselves."
