According to Nika Gvaramia, CEO of the Mtavari Channel, the ruling team will try to shut down the opposition media in August. Nika Gvaramia called on international partners, non-governmental organizations and ambassadors to monitor the government closely.

The relevant statement was made by the General Director of the channel at a special briefing.

"We have information that August will be the period when they will try to silence and shut down the opposition media. Naturally, we will constantly be in a state of acute reaction, but we appeal to the international community, all the ambassadors in Georgia, all international organizations, especially journalistic organizations, to constantly monitor the violent government of Georgia.Be it physical violence, verbal bullying or be it tax or administrative violence, all these forms should be constantly monitored, especially in August, and there should be rigid, targeted and with very clear statements and actions," Nika Gvaramia said.

At the briefing, Nika Gvaramia also noted that the "Main Channel" is returning to the harsh coverage regime.
