Nika Melia, the chairman of the United National Movement, is leaving his parliamentary mandate. As Nika Melia noted at a special briefing, he will be completely focused on the local elections.

At the briefing, Melia also said that other members of the party remain formally in parliament to bring about changes in the proportional electoral system to bring the ruling team to an end.

"I am personally going to fight for the October referendum and I am leaving the parliament. I am leaving the parliamentary mandate and going from head to toe with Elene to take part in the most important referendum together with the Georgian people," Nika Melia said.
