The work of civil activists and journalists in the country is becoming increasingly dangerous - a civil activist was severely beaten by senior officials in the administrative building of Khashuri Municipality. The victim of gang violence is Zaza Mekhrishvili, who exposes officials in corrupt deals.
Mekhrishvili says he was beaten by Khashuri City Council chairman Mikheil Janashvili and two high-ranking officials of the same agency, Sergo Laliashvili and Kote Pruidze.
"Are you insane?, damn you.... who do you think you are hitting!?" - is heard in the audio recording, which was made public by Mekhrishvili
The high-ranking officials are hiding from the "Mtavari channel" and do not allow our camera crew to enter the City Council building at all.
