Despite the great desire of the opposition, this will not happen - the "Dream" is not expecting sanctions

Members of the Georgian Dream argue that the annulment of the April 19 agreement does not determine the relationship between the strategic partners and Georgia. The ruling party says rejecting the document of European Council President Charles Michel is an interparty decision.

"The April 19 agreement and those internal political processes, if we separate it from the strategic goals of the country, will be good for us. The April 19 agreement contained more than the internal political processes could be for the country.

Do you want it ?! [Sanctions] I dont. I camt imagine that I will ever be in such a position, I never want to think that my work will be oriented to it [Sanctions]," said Maka Bochorishvili, a Dream MP.

Mikheil Sarjveladze, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights and Civil Integration, claims that the imposition of sanctions on Georgia due to the cancellation of the April 19 agreement is out of the question.

"The reason for the sanctions may be human rights violations, deviation from the course of democracy, etc. None of these preconditions are in the present case, so despite the great desire of the opposition to do so and damage our country, it will not happen," - said Mikheil Sarjveladze .
