The third president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, responds to a statement made by the Russian Foreign Ministry and writes that Moscow is putting a lifeline on the bankrupt government of Ivanishvili.
According to him, the Russians know very well that the vast majority of the Georgian people are on his side and demand Saakashvili's return to Georgia.
"They have a good study of Georgian public opinion. They also know that blackmail has often worked for them in the past, and in practice, they are putting a lifeline to Ivanishvili's government, which is completely bankrupt and isolated from the West.
I want to tell everyone, we do not want a confrontation with anyone, including Russia, we do not want unrest and violence from either side, but no such statements can deprive the Georgian people of their choice and, moreover, do not change my plans.
They are not so much intimidated by Saakashvili as by the rapid development and success of Georgia associated with me.
It is much more convenient for them to have chaos, unrest in Georgia and the Georgian people to drown in the swamp of poverty.
All this persecution against me must now be understood by all - it is a direct order from Putin and Russia, and he never hid the fact that Ivanishvili, by fabricating criminal cases against me, in an empty space, was necessarily creating criminal cases in order to please those who came to power, who in their time gave Ivanishvili two billion dollars for the election campaign - as long as they could stop the development and progress of Georgia.
We will do everything to liberate Georgia, and then we will definitely improve relations with all our neighbors," Mikheil Saakashvili wrote.
