If I had fled Georgia in 2008, there would have been exactly the same scenes in Tbilisi as we saw in Kabul - Mikheil Saakashvili

The situation in Afghanistan was assessed by the third President of Georgia in an interview with Ukrainian television.

Mikheil Saakashvili drew a parallel with the events in Georgia in 2008. He said that several Western partners had advised him to leave the country, while the Russians specifically did not bomb the Tbilisi airport to allow the president to escape.

Mikheil Saakashvili believes that in case of his escape, there would be exactly the same scenes in Tbilisi as there are now in the Afghan capital.

The third president of Georgia also notes that the lesson learned in Afghanistan should be a lesson for all those who rely only on outside force and do nothing for their own country.
