"Dream" mayoral candidate in Kazbegi leaves "Dream"

Georgian Dream's Kazbegi mayoral candidate Shalva Eloshvili writes on Facebook that he no longer represents the ruling party and explains the reasons for that.

He says that he and his team are leaving "Georgian Dream" and will talk about their plans in the near future.

Before reading this post, I would like to start with the fact that today I am no longer a candidate of the "Georgian Dream" in the self-government elections. It has always been important to me and is the responsibility of a public figure before his constituents, therefore, I feel obliged to clarify this issue.

In 2012, when we started the fight against injustice, our primary goal was to defeat not just one person, but the total evil and the dishonour that pervaded the entire country.

Then most of the citizens of our country sided with the force that was able to instill in the people the hope that they would live in a better, stronger and fairer country, whose government would care for prosperity, national interests, economic prosperity, development of each region, city and village. The population decides for itself what is needed to improve its living environment.

With this belief, my team and I came to the helm of Kazbegi Municipality in 2012 and I think we have made every effort to solve the first-line, urgent, but nonetheless, unresolved problems for years in the shortest possible time for Stepantsminda and each village. The only valuable result of the work of our team during this period is the support and love of the population, which is most precious to me. This is what made me decide to take care of the municipality again after 4 years.

Unfortunately, it soon became clear that neither the support of the Mokhevis nor the team that did everything for its victory in 2012 was of any value to the Georgian Dream. Within the political union were found people who, to put it mildly, dishonestly, by spreading misinformation, lyingly fighting for power and fighting old members of the team. We do not know whether the ruling circle of the party has accurate information about this, but the fact is that thanks to such misinformation, the vision of the Georgian Dream has gradually diverged from the vision of the population as to what should have been done, what should be done and what has not been done so far in the municipality. In this situation, we are not going to stay in this political union and distance ourselves from our true unity, whose support gives me the basis for publishing this post.

My team and I are leaving the "Georgian Dream" and will continue to fight in the name of Khevi.

Our interest, as it often happens, has never been to gain privileges. For us, position, in its true sense, was and is only a duty and will remain so forever. This interest seems to conflict with the other interests of others, leaving no room for healthy collaboration.

I want to thank you for your support and assistance. As for the future, very soon our team will be presented to you and will inform you about future plans, - Eloshvili writes.
