Demanding a postponement of the elections means political capitulation - Papuashvili

Shalva Papuashvili sees the "trace" of the UNM in the initiative to postpone the elections, and traditionally connects everything with the opposition. According to Papuashvili, this "campaign" of the National Movement serves three purposes, while according to him, during the 2 years of the pandemic, they only now remembered people's lives and health.

We announced three weeks ago that the National Movement is planning to boycott the self-governance elections, because according to their data, they have no chance of succeeding in these elections. Today we all see that they have started a campaign to demand the postponement of the elections, using the pandemic as an excuse. Demanding a postponement of the elections one month before the elections directly means political capitulation, no matter how much they speak as if they care about the health of the population. During the almost two-year period of the pandemic, we saw the irresponsible attitude of the National Movement towards the epidemic situation, including the regulations. For some reason, they only now remembered that our country is living in a pandemic.

The National Movement campaign serves three purposes. If necessary, have an excuse prepared in advance to boycott the self-government elections;  Second - in case of participation in the elections, to announce after the inevitable defeat that this defeat was caused by a severe epidemic and as if the held elections do not fully express the will of the population; Third, to conduct a discrediting campaign against the government during the pre-election period, as if we do not care about the health of the population and because of that we do not postpone the elections - says Papuashvili

The Public Defender came out with the initiative to postpone the elections. Since then, "Georgian Dream" has one message box - that Nino Lomjaria acts in the interests of the UNM and voices the position of the opposition. Despite the alarming epidemic and the daily deaths of many people in the ruling team, they do not see the need to postpone the elections.
