Georgia's judicial system is far ahead of those of the current EU members - Gharibashvili

The Prime Minister, Irakli Gharibashvili, once again claims that the 75 million euro aid that was refused is not EU aid, but a loan. According to him, the Georgian judiciary is far ahead of the EU judiciary.

"To explain to the people once again, the government has taken out a loan, a loan - I emphasize, in the amount of 150 million euros in 2020, half of this 150 million euro loan was written off last year, the other half was tied to judicial reform. I would like to remind everyone, including the MEPs who are making these statements today, we know very well, and we all remember what kind of court the Georgian Dream was entrusted with, after that we had numerous reforms, 4 waves of them in fact, which made the system much more accountable and open.

In addition, I would like to remind everyone that the current judicial system in Georgia is far ahead of the judicial system of the current EU member states, all studies confirm this, including EU polls and surveys of highly rated organizations, "- said Irakli Gharibashvili.
