The Prime Minister, Irakli Gharibashvili, again criticizes the "National Movement" in response to the criticism of the MEPs. He said that since 2012, opponents in the EU have been spreading false information, including about Bidzina Ivanishvili.
According to him, the "People's Party" is the "mother party" of the "National Movement" and because of this they are in solidarity. According to Gribashvili, the "European people's party" makes subjective, biased statements.
"It is the merit of our government, and not your leaders, Saakashvili and the leaders of his national movement, that Georgia's Euro-Atlantic course has become irreversible. We have written this in the Constitution by our will, by our decision, and we have said that the direction and orientation of Georgia's foreign policy is the Euro-Atlantic orientation. It was during my time as prime minister, that the most important historical document was signed, the Association Agreement, free trade, visa-free regime."
