Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili is responding to criticism by President Salome Zurabishvili over the government's refusal to accept EU financial assistance.
Gharibashvili says that the president does not have enough information about the issue.
"I think the president does not have enough information, and we will explain to her, we will provide information about what debt we are talking about, and how these debts are differentiated, how the government manages this process in general.
I want to say that I think it is an exaggerated assessment that as if the government had refused the European loan, it is good that we changed that word and said loan instead of aid. Yes, a loan, it was a loan and in general we said that an EU loan was no longer needed. The government has decided to gradually reduce its foreign debt. We refused the loans, the non-acceptance of which would not create any problems," Gharibashvili said.
