"Dream" Increased Pressure on Election Administration and UNM Representatives - Bezhashvili

Published:

According to Levan Bezhashvili, a member of the United National Movement, the Dream has intensified pressure on the election administration and representatives of opposition parties. He held a briefing on this topic and talked about two cases.

"The first is the Senaki constituency, where "Dream" nominated Gia Tsurtsumia and Bezhan Sanaia as majoritarian candidates in the respective constituencies. These people had filled in the registration cards with their own hands and had given their consent. After the registration period with the electoral commission expired, they asked the Georgian Dream to identify a technical defect and change their ID number, they took advantage of this and, in gross violation of the law, replaced the majoritarian candidates in the constituencies. The district election commission is forced to comply with this illegal demand of "Dream" as a result of great pressure," Bezhashvili said.

He asked the commission not to change the submission made by the government for the first time. As for the second violation - in Akhalkalaki and Ninotsminda, according to Bezhashvili, persons on the UNM party list are being persecuted.

"In Akhalkalaki, about 4 people initially refused to be on the UNM list due to the pressure of the Special Forces. We involved all the international organizations, they have already been provided with this information," he said.

According to him, after giving guarantees to these people, they refused the initial refusal and applied to the commission this morning.
