Congressman Brian Steele says visit to occupation line important step in US-Georgia relations
"It is important to come here and see for ourselves the Russian occupation of Georgia. The visit here is an important step in the development of US-Georgia relations. I welcome our invitation," said Congressman Brian Steele.
"It is very important for the world to see the situation here - the occupation, and it is important to let Russia know that we are paying attention to this issue and we are deeply concerned about the aggression that is taking place here. Here are a total of five US congressmen to show that we care about and support Georgia., "said Congressman Alex Mooney.
After visiting the occupation line, the congressmen will start official meetings. It is known that the 5-member delegation will hold meetings with members of the government and parliament. The audience will talk about the current political processes and the crisis in Georgia.
For reference, this is the first visit since the "Georgian Dream" refused the aid from the EU and canceled the agreement of Charles Michel.
The delegation includes Alex Xavier Moon (West Virginia), Brian George Steele (Wisconsin), Kelly Michael Armstrong (North Dakota), Carol Devin Miller (West Virginia) and Ronald Jean Estes (Kansas) and others.
The visit is organized by the US-Georgia Friendship Association.
