I will appeal the shameful decision of the Supreme Court in Strasbourg - Kezerashvili

Former Minister of Defense Davit Kezerashvili responds to the guilty verdict against him by the Supreme Court.

Kezerashvili writes on Facebook that he will appeal the decision in the Strasbourg court.

"The decision made by Ivanishvili's personal lawyer and former Prosecutor General in the Supreme Court is another step on his part to adjust the judiciary to its own narrow political tasks.

I have a special love for my country and a sense of responsibility. It is this responsibility that has been and continues to be the main motivation for me to be an active supporter and advocate of any manifestation of the struggle for freedom in Georgia over the years - be it civic activism or support for Western-based media free from government influence.

I will definitely appeal the disgraceful decision made by the Supreme Court in the Strasbourg court. Tadumadze and Ivanishvili's pocket court exist only to do everything possible - After justifying my innocence in two instances of the same court, and after a pause of almost four years, the case was thus turned upside down.

I know that the direct initiator and organizer of this disgrace is Irakli Gharibashvili, the boy in the hands of Ivanishvili. It is he who thinks that in this way he will intimidate or blackmail me, or the television I support.

It reassures me that I am on the right side of history and strengthens my motivation to help free speech with more enthusiasm and the fight for freedom in Georgia in general," Davit Kezerashvili wrote.
