"Georgian Dream" revives politically motivated cases after the rejection of reforms. Former Minister of Defense Davit Kezerashvili was sentenced to 5 years in prison yesterday. The members of the "Dream" claim that they do not even remember it, and the court is an independent agency.
Among the political cases, the trial of Nika Gvaramia, the CEO of the Mtavari Channel, is scheduled in court today, and tomorrow the trial of Nika Melia, the Chairman of the National Movement.
"I did not even remember Kezerashvili, if we controlled the court, couldn't we have sentenced him earlier? The court is an independent link. If a certain trial is going on, let us wait, they will either be convicted or acquitted. Everyone has the opportunity to dispute and appeal the result," said Irakli Zarkua, a member of the Georgian Dream.
Another "Dream" MP, Beka Davituliani, did not want to assess the issue and said that he would have the same position in relation to other cases.
