The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia has launched an investigation into the information spread by the media regarding the secret recordings on the fact of violation of the secrets of private communication, on the grounds of a crime under Article 158, Parts 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
As part of the ongoing investigation into the case, all necessary investigative and procedural actions will be carried out. We call on everyone with whom illegal records and materials may be kept to cooperate with the investigation.
At the same time, we call on the media outlets that have the mentioned material to cooperate with the investigation and provide them with the available evidence. We also call on everyone to refrain from disclosing personal and personal information publicly," the prosecutor's office wrote.
