Falsification, fabrication, conspiracy against the church - Gharibashvili blames and threatens media over the SSG files

Published:

Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili is again attacking the previous government and critical media while talking about secret files of the SSG.

He says that the "National Movement" has "conspired against the church and the state", while the critical media is "replicating" all this.

"Of course, this is a direct conspiracy against the state and the church by our destructive opposition, Saakashvili and unfortunately other traitors. I want to repeat once again, this is a direct enmity against the Church, the priests, this is an attempt to discredit them, a conspiracy against our state, which is inadmissible and all will be held accountable in the name of state law. It is unfortunate that the televisions are broadcasting all this, these lies, and they are discrediting the church, the priests," Gharibashvili said.

When asked how realistic it was for the previous government to keep secret recordings under the Georgian Dream in power, Gharibashvili said that it was not "recorded" by them, but "falsified" by them.

"I did not say that the opposition records this, this is a very primitive assessment. Your handwriting, of the National Movement and Saakashvili, is of forgery and fabrication. This is the final attempt of Saakashvili and the opposition. They know they are failing everywhere, and they want to do something. We see that they have no preparations for the elections at all, because they know it makes no sense to involve them in this campaign, they are losing on October 2nd. Everything is aimed at the second day of the elections to organize certain provocations on the day of the elections and the next day, which the state will not allow. We will give a strict response to all traitors and enemies of our country, of our church," Irakli Gharibashvili said.
