According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Davit Dautashvili, born in 1993, the son of the "Dream" majoritarian candidate, was detained due to the assault on the "National Movement" supporters at the pre-election meeting in Damnisi.
According to the agency, investigative and operative measures are underway to identify all persons involved in the incident and impose appropriate legal liability.
The investigation established that the accused D.D. used a knife to injure the supporters of the United National Movement in the face during a verbal and physical confrontation during a pre-election meeting in the village of Gantiadi, Dmanisi Municipality, on September 21 of this year: M.O., born in 1976, and Sh.S., born in 1983; were taken to a hospital, where they are receiving appropriate medical treatment.
"During the physical confrontation in the village of Gantiadi, other persons involved in the quarrel also received various injuries," the statement reads.
The fact of intentional serious damage to health and gang violence is being investigated under Article 117 of the Criminal Code of Georgia and Article 126. The offense carries a maximum sentence of 3 to 6 years in prison.
