The third president of Georgia held meetings in Washington before the decisive elections. Mikheil Saakashvili briefed US lawmakers Jim Risch, Jeaene Shaheen and Senator Ron Johnson on his political plans. He was promised by them that an American delegation would arrive in Georgia for the October 2 elections.
With this, Saakashvili ended his meetings in Washington and arrived in Frankfurt, where he met with the head of the European Parliament Monitoring Mission Mike Geller and one of the leaders of the Green Party in the European Parliament, Viola von Cramon, students and the Georgian community.
The topic of conversation was the October 2 elections and its significance. MEPs have made critical statements. According to them, Ivanishvili is trying to compensate for the sharp decline in support of his party with violence and falsifications, so people should speak their thoughts.
Freedom is being destroyed in Georgia in front of us. It is imperative that this process be stopped immediately. If we say that everyone should go to the elections, the Georgian Dream is calling for people to stay home, since they try to make the people believe that they can't change anything - says Mikheil Saakashvili.
