"Bloody banners are not a violation"| CEC explanation

Published:

The commissioner of the bloody banners is a private person and not a political party, therefore, its display is not a violation - this statement is made by the Central Election Commission.

Speaker Natia Ioseliani said at today's briefing that 3 complaints regarding banners were registered in the election administration on September 18-21. According to her, the election administration has investigated and determined that the commissioner of the banner is a private citizen who commissioned "Alma Ltd." to make and place them.

It is clear from the written answers of the private person that the placement of the banners was not funded by any political party, election subject. According to our research, this person also does not represent any political party, election subject or is their official supporter, nor is he / she registered as a representative of the election subject. Nor is he a donor to any political party.

Due to the above-mentioned circumstances, according to the election legislation, the banners placed by the person mentioned by us in Tbilisi and other regions are not considered as an election program, which is why there is no legal basis for drawing up a report on this person, - the CEC said.
