"We knew and know more than anyone can imagine" - Gharibashvili on the arrival of Mikheil Saakashvili

Published:

Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili says the government was informed of the return of Georgia's third president, Mikheil Saakashvili, and was "in complete control of the situation."

The Prime Minister claims that "they know more than anyone can imagine", but did not answer questions about how Mikheil Saakashvili entered Georgia, how he moved freely in different cities.

Gharibashvili did not comment on why he told his teammates to lie that the third president of Georgia was resting on an island in Ukraine if he knew that Mikheil Saakashvili was in Georgia.

"The fact that our law enforcers opened the door of Mikheil Saakashvili's hideout with a key speaks volumes. Who is demolished and who is completely bankrupt, I think, is clear in and of itself.

The situation was under complete control, we knew and know more than anyone could have imagined. And in the end we did everything we could to make the result peaceful. We chose the time when Mikheil Saakashvili was alone in this apartment. I think we did what we said," Irakli Gharibashvili said.
