Lasha Kveladze and his father Givi Kveladze, members of the United National Movement, were detained in Marneuli. After the father and son left the party office, several police crews blocked the road - they were ordered to get out of the car and picked up.
Relatives of the detainees say that this is not the first time that Gomelauri's office has carried out a punitive operation on the father and son. Givi Kveladze was released shortly after his arrest, although his son, a member of the opposition, remains in the police department. The reason is unclear.
"There were 20 cars, they jumped out, they put me in one car, Lasha in another. This is the terror of the government on my family, they cause such trouble in every election. They beat us, kill us, devastate my family," Givi Kveladze said.
For reference, Lasha Kveladze was included in the Marneuli city hall on the list of the "National Movement".
