Elguja Tsomaia, in whose apartment the third president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, was arrested, was sentenced to imprisonment by the Tbilisi City Court as a measure of detention.

The decision was made by Judge Jemal Kopaliani a few minutes ago.

Elguja Tsomaia is accused of covering up a serious crime from the investigation.

Lawyers say the charges against their client are unfair. According to human rights activists, if we follow the logic of the prosecutor's office, all those who had contact with Mikheil Saakashvili should be arrested.
