I am ready to prove with my self-sacrifice that life and death are worth for Georgia - this is what the letter of the third president Mikheil Saakashvili says. The letter was made public by the CEO of the Mtavari Channel and his lawyer, Nika Gvaramia, a few minutes ago, after leaving the Rustavi prison.
The letter states that Mikheil Saakashvili is not going to end the hunger strike and in case of ill health, the medical doctors of the prison were also prohibited from aiding him.
I want the citizens of Georgia to know about my firm decision to return to Georgia to help our people restore freedom and democracy. As expected, the regime arrested me. I remain a free man behind bars. As you probably know, I have declared a hunger strike and I want you to know that I will not stop it under any circumstances until the people arrested because of me and i myself are released. I love life very much, but this hunger strike will remain until the end of my life and in all cases," the letter reads.
If I can no longer help my people with my existence, I am ready to prove with my self-sacrifice that life and death are worth for Georgia and I know exactly what I am doing. I did not want to sadden my family and loved ones, however, I refuse to receive medical aid in case of my unconsciousness, any kind of medical intervention. I write this not to for you to give up, but on the contrary, for you to rise. I love you all very much, - it is said in the letter, which was introduced to the public by Nika Gvaramia.
