The Parliament of Georgia has terminated the mandate of the Chairman of the National Movement, Nika Melia. Voting in the plenary session was held a few minutes ago.
79 MPs supported the termination of Nika Melia as a deputy, but none voted against.
It should be noted that the deputies of the opposition parties did not attend the sitting.
Nika Melia, the chairman of the United National Movement and Tbilisi mayoral candidate, addressed the legislature on July 29 with a request to cancel the mandate. Melia made the decision after the "Georgian Dream" annulled the agreement reached with the European Parliament with the involvement of President Charles Michel.
