The Ministry of Internal Affairs has detained another person in connection with the crossing of the Georgian border by Mikheil Saakashvili.

According to the agency, based on the judge's decision, one person as a defendant - G.N., born in 1989 was arrested. 3 people have been arrested in the case already.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the framework of the ongoing investigation into the illegal crossing of the Georgian state border by Mikheil Saakashvili, has detained one person - G.N., born in 1989, on the basis of a judge's ruling.

Law enforcers have already arrested three people on the same charges in the case.

The investigation is underway under the second part of Article 375 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which stipulates unintentional cover-up of a serious crime.

The offense carries a maximum sentence of up to 4 years in prison.

Investigation into the facts of illegal crossing of the Georgian border by Mikheil Saakashvili, a citizen of Ukraine, illegal transfer of a migrant to the Georgian state border by an organized group and unintentional coverage of a serious crime under Article 344, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, Article 344, Part 3 of the Criminal Code Under Article 375, Part 2. All relevant procedural and investigative actions are being carried out actively," the agency said in a statement.

The offense carries a maximum sentence of up to 4 years in prison.
