"The possibility of communication with my lawyers has been completely closed to me" | Statement of Mikheil Saakashvili

The third president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, has released another statement from prison, saying that the opportunity to communicate with his lawyers has been completely restricted.

According to Mikheil Saakashvili's statement, a glass wall was built in the room where he meets the lawyers so that they can no longer exchange documents.

Due to the imposed restrictions, the third president categorically refuses to treat the hunger strike and states that he will continue to protest in this form until they are allowed to have unhindered relations with human rights defenders.

"Since this morning, the opportunity to communicate with my personal lawyers has been completely blocked. In the meeting room, the glass wall between us has been completely removed, which means that we can no longer exchange documents with each other. In addition, there is very poor hearing. Such a thing has never happened in Georgia and even more so, never in Europe.

We have heard for a long time that the court and the prosecutor's office do not exist, now the advocacy has been abolished!

From today, I categorically refuse any research, treatment and reanimation services related to the hunger strike. This will continue until the right to unhindered relations with my lawyers is restored!

I am practically in a Russian prison now, not in a Georgian one, they are even forcing the staff to act like Russians. Today I met the Ukrainian ombudsman, Ludmila Denisova, to whom I am very grateful. She also noted that she thought of herself not in Georgia, but in Russia," Mikheil Saakashvili said in a statement.
