"Tbilisi is waking up, it is making a choice in favor of diversity" - Nika Melia

The scent of victory truly lingers in the air, nothing like it was noticed in the first round. This is how democracy works, and I call on the "Georgian Dream" not to worry. They have fears of giving up power, but it should have happened - this statement was made by Tbilisi mayoral opposition candidate Nika Melia after voting in the elections.

Nika Melia says that the Soviet-style government in Georgia should end, and the country should continue to live as a pro-Western, democratic and coalition government.

"I voted today and I do not want to sound arrogant, but I'm sure the vast majority of people in Tbilisi today do the same and in other cities as well, they vote for competition, diversity, change, and we do everything we can to en, in my opinion, a very shameful Soviet style of one-party rule and pave the way for coalition rule, which involves governing the country by reconciling dissent.

If we want to be a worthy member of the large European family, we must do so, and a government that implies one-party, a mediocre, gloomy government cannot take us where our historical aspirations are. So I'm sure the coalition government will win.

As you know, the turnout at polling stations at 10 a.m. is much higher than in the first rounds. You know that traditionally turnouts in the second round is less, but this year is an exception. What I expected is happening - Tbilisi is waking up and Tbilisi is making choices for the sake of diversity.

This is a great historical chance, tomorrow we will get a completely different Tbilisi. We will change everything for the better and there will be diversity and there is a guarantee that the human rights standards will be observed," Nika Melia said.

Answering the question of the journalists, Nika Melia also spoke about Mikheil Saakashvili today and said that this country does not have such a president to be killed by Gharibashvili, Kobakhidze and Ivanishvili.

"I am confident that the life and health of Mikheil Saakashvili will be safeguarded by the Georgian people. It is possible that many people will support the coalition," Melia said.
