The third president of Georgia has released another statement regarding the resignation of the parliamentary mandates.
According to Mikheil Saakashvili's statement, practically everyone is ready to leave the parliament today, but in order to enter the prison and communicate with him, a mandate of an MP is needed.
The third president says that after solving the tactical tasks, the current mandates will be replaced by the mandates of the Democratic and Coalition Parliament.
"Regarding the mass resignation from the parliament: I met today and also had written communication with a large part of my comrades. Virtually everyone is ready to leave the parliament now and terminate their mandates. I am very happy with this patriotic approach.
But here specific questions arise. There is a need for a parliamentary mandate to enter prison and have constant contact with me. I am sure that a wave will rise that will force Ivanishvili to call early parliamentary elections, but for this, for a constitutional vote, it is necessary to have our representatives in the parliament with a mandate of the people at a specific moment.
Therefore, the boycott remains in force, and they will not participate in the current parliamentary activities, they will leave the Georgian Dream to themselves. I also welcome the boycott from "Lelo". After solving the tactical tasks, we will all hand over the mandates and move to the mandates of the new, democratic and coalition parliament, which will definitely be the defender of the interests of the citizens.
The Georgian people have already convincingly defeated Ivanishvili. We must ratify this victory for the people, and that is why it is necessary to take tactically correct and morally right steps. The main task is to involve many citizens in permanent rallies at various locations, to completely ignore complaining and pessimism, and to release me so that I can fully engage in the struggle. Unity and once again unity, diverse unity for Georgia!", - Mikheil Saakashvili's statement reads.
