The lawyer of the third president of Georgia, Evgeni Grushovets, says that the most important thing now is to take Mikheil Saakashvili to a private clinic, because his life is in danger.
He called on the Georgian authorities to stop torturing people and immediately transfer the third president to a multi-profile civilian clinic. In addition, Grushovets says he intends to sue in several directions in the European Court.
The lawyer talked about these issues after a meeting with the Public Defender of Ukraine in Kiev.
"We met Giuli Alasania, who arrived in Kiev. She told us that Saakashvili was feeling unwell and that he was losing weight, which was having a negative effect on his health. I think his life is in danger.
The most important thing at the moment is to take Saakashvili to a private clinic, where he will be provided with appropriate medical care. We discussed this issue with the Public Defender of Ukraine and the Minister of Justice of Ukraine. We are also working on this issue with international organizations. I appeal to the Georgian authorities to stop this torture and take Saakashvili to the clinic.
I am going to file a lawsuit to the European Court in several directions that Saakashvili's rights are being violated because he is not receiving the necessary medical care and also that i was not allowed to enter Georgia. I have sent all the requests and I am waiting for the answers. I think I will come to Georgia soon, "said Evgeni Groshovets.
