Lawyer Shota Tutberidze spoke about the events that took place yesterday after meeting with the third President of Georgia at the Gldani 18th Establishment.
The lawyer once again stated that Mikheil Saakashvili was deceitfully transferred to Gldani prison. According to him, up to 10 special forces physically assaulted the third president and then placed him in the ward using force.
"I have not seen the hell such as the one in this institution anywhere else. As for yesterday's events, Mikheil Saakashvili met with Mr. Ako Minashvili yesterday. After this meeting, they started to deceive him, at the same time they lied to the council that the president was not coming to see the doctor, while also they lied to his family members that Mikheil Saakashvili was busy with other things at this stage and could not meet with them.
In addition, he was approached by penitentiary staff, including prison director Zurab Modebadze, who was told to take him to one of the central civilian clinics and pack his luggage. The president tried to find out the details, but was told that for his own safety, they could not provide more accurate information. The president left voluntarily because he had been deceived while they violated all the norms of the law by telling him that he was being taken to a civilian clinic. He only found out where he was after coming here.
He naturally refused to get out of the car because it was not what he had agreed to, and he has every right to refuse medical intervention, after which the third president of Georgia was forcibly evicted by up to a dozen riot police amid organized commotion, which was reported to them by the conspiring authorities in advance. They started putting moral pressure on Mikheil Saakashvili, which will have no influence on either the third president or his human rights defenders. This is a shame, this is an indicator of how far the Georgian state has come.
Up to 10 people, were dragging him on the ground, with torn clothes, to the institution and forcefully placed him in the ward," Shota Tutberidze said.
