9 MPs go on hunger strike demanding the transfer of Mikheil Saakashvili to a civilian hospital

9 opposition MPs are on hunger strike demanding that Mikheil Saakashvili be transferred to a clinic - one of the leaders of the National Movement, Davit Kirkitadze, made a special announcement.

MPs: Davit Kirkitadze, Akaki Minashvili, Temur Janashia, Bachuki Kardava, Nika Machutadze, Giorgi Godabrelidze, Sulkhan Sibashvili, Levan Bezhashvili, Abdulla Ismailov start their hunger strike at the Parliament building.

" You are well aware of the situation in Georgia. The third president of Georgia has been on hunger strike for 45 days now. He is not receiving proper medical care. Our colleague Elene Khoshtaria is also on hunger strike. Therefore, we, the members of the Georgian Parliament, currently 9 parliamentarians, have decided to go on hunger strike with a single demand: we demand that Mikheil Saakashvili be transferred to a civilian clinic to receive proper medical care, that he be transferred to a civilian clinic in accordance with the decision of the Council created by them to protect his health and life," Davit Kirkitadze said at the special meeting.
