Mikheil Saakashvili's address to the hunger strikers in the Zugdidi and Rustavi city councils, Paata Burchuladze and Reverend Ioseb

The third president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, has released another letter from prison, in which he addresses the members of the Zugdidi and Rustavi city councils who are on hunger strike, as well as Paata Burchuladze and Reverend Ioseb.

He thanks the hunger strikers for their support.

"I greet the members of the Zugdidi and Rustavi councils who are on hunger strike, who joined the Georgian parliamentarians in the highest act of solidarity.

Now I have learned that the national treasure of Georgia, Paata Burchuladze, is starting a hunger strike of solidarity. A person who recently was not allowed to enter the Kutaisi Opera House I built has to go on a hunger strike - it is shameful. On the other hand - this is the highest act of nobility and kindness. Finally, i am thankful for the support of the very noble and kind Metropolitan, Ioseb. I want to respond to your call, Reverend, I pray a lot for my homeland and for its and my freedom," Mikheil Saakashvili wrote.
