"Personally check the conditions of the hunger strikers" - Citizens appeal to the diplomatic corps

Citizens are spreading another petition about the crisis in the country and the situation of the third president, addressing the US Ambassador to Georgia, Kelly Degnan, the EU Ambassador, Carl Hartzel, and the entire diplomatic corps.

They ask international friends to personally check the conditions of the hunger strikers.

We offer the appeal in full:

"Georgia is currently in the worst crisis. With the economic downturn, we have a complete political impasse from which there is no way out. Georgia's third president, Mikheil Saakashvili, has been arrested and is on hunger strike. MP Elene Khoshtaria is on a hunger strike, demanding that the former president be taken to hospital. Ten members of parliament are on hunger strike in solidarity with the hunger strikers, singer Paata Burchuladze is on hunger strike in the Presidential Library, dozens of activists are on hunger strike in different regions of Georgia, society is polarized and at any time the situation is expected to develop unexpectedly and damaging to the country.

Mikheil Saakashvili will not be taken to hospital despite appeals from doctors, art circles, science and various spheres of society. According to his personal physician, ombudsman and deputy health minister, the chances of saving his life in a prison hospital are slim because the prison clinic does not have the multidisciplinary functions necessary for a post-starvation rehabilitation period.

Please heed our request and personally check the conditions of the hunger strikers to avoid the devastating scenario that threatens the country in the event of harm to their life.
