"They try to make it seem as if this is an obsessive position," said Irakli Kobakhidze, chairman of the Georgian Dream, regarding the request to transfer Mikheil Saakashvili, Georgia's third president, to a multidisciplinary clinic.
Kobakhidze again spoke about the "risks" that he claims "exist" in terms of security if the third president is transferred to a civilian clinic.
"As for the issue of the civilian hospital, we want to point out once again that what is happening is presented as if it were some obsessive position. Once again, we can say that in case of transfer to a civilian hospital, we see serious risks in terms of safety.
We believe that agencies, law enforcement forces, will do everything possible to prevent such plans. But putting people's lives and health at risk is a serious dilemma. Therefore, we can not make a decision on taking Saakashvili to the clinic. First is that there is no need for it, and the second is that the security risks are very serious. We are talking about risks related to people's lives and health, "Irakli Kobakhidze said.
