If MPs are barred from the Gori hospital, Mikheil Saakashvili will refuse medical care - lawyer

He spoke about the initiative group to free Mikheil Saakashvili and said it would include people who were actively involved in the process of saving his life.

"In the current circumstances, the court will not release Mikheil Saakashvili under Ivanishvili's directive. Therefore, the activism of the Georgian people, the protest of the Georgian people is crucial, and in light of this protest the government will have to make a political decision to end politically motivated harassment and political retaliation," Basilaia said.

According to the lawyer, MPs are not allowed to meet with Mikheil Saakashvili, which is the right of MPs.

"MPs have not been allowed to meet with Mikheil Saakashvili in recent days. This is a process of political isolation of Mikheil Saakashvili. This is the process of creating obstacles for Mikheil Saakashvili," Basilaia said.

Because of all this the third President is giving a kind of ultimatum. If the MPs are barred from visiting him, Mikheil Saakashvili will refuse medical assistance and will receive medication that he was taking in Rustavi prison:

"Mikheil Saakashvili has a very clear position that if this continues and if he does not hear his views right away he will stop his treatment in Gori hospital and he will only receive the medication that he was taking before his arrival to Georgia," Basilaia said.
