"Regulate yourselves" - a rally in support of the Mtavari Channel at the Communications Commission

"Shame" is holding a rally in front of the National Communications Regulatory Commission. The activists are protesting against the decision of the Bekauri agency, according to which the Mtavari Channel was fined 112 thousand GEL.
On 25 November the Bekauri agency fined the Mtavari Channel for three clips. According to CEO Nika Gvaramia, the Mtavari Channel is not going to pay the money and will appeal against the decision in court.
The motivation behind the huge fine was the dissemination of political advertisements during the pre-election period, the Communications Commission said.
The sanction was imposed by the commission for showing a video produced by "Shame". In the said video the image of Putin was created from photos of Georgian Dream members.
