Gigi Ugulava detained near the city court

Police arrested one of the opposition leaders, Gigi Ugulava, during a rally in front of the city court.

Goga Memanishvili explained that Gigi Ugulava was detained by a police officer for disobeying a legal request.

Several other people have also been evacuated from the area and they are allegedly in custody.

The confrontation at the scene began after protesters blocked both parts of the road in front of the court. The police attempted to forcibly free the site.
