The so-called Jacket Case | The trial of Mikheil Saakashvili has begun in a city court

The trial of the so-called jacket case of Mikheil Saakashvili has begun in the Tbilisi City Court. The third president is present at the trial. He was taken from the Gori hospital in Tbilisi this morning by prison service officers, accompanied by special forces.

It was recently reported that the ongoing trial would not be broadcast live, although the court later reversed this decision and allowed a public broadcaster to record the live proceedings and broadcast them to other televisions.

A special police mobilisation is underway in the immediate vicinity of the court. The Aghmashenebeli Alley is blocked off.

A rally is being held at the site in parallel with the trial. Politicians, civic activists and ordinary citizens express support for Mikheil Saakashvili. Moreover, a screen has been installed in front of the court, through which citizens gathered there can observe the process live.
