Lawyers of Mikheil Saakashvili brought the jackets at a so-called jacket case hearing in the City Court. The lawyer of the third president once again spoke about why this was a political case rather than a legal one.

"In terms of expenditure, it has been stressed that this is not a jacket case, yes, this is the  jacket case because it is one of the six by which you judge the president.

In this case you have no differentiated costs. In this case you are judging the President on bouquets, and if you have the legal capacity, you can say that he is charged for Botox, not jackets, not bouquets ... But you didn't and do you know why? Legally, in terms of costs, whether it was Botox or jackets, it was absolutely identical ...

That is why we are in a political trial and not a legal one, and that is why you represent propaganda and not a legal charge," Basilaia said.

At Mikheil Saakashvili's trial, lawyers demanded the removal of prosecutor Giorgi Mujiri, citing a media interview with him, in which Mujiri spoke about the details and circumstances of the case.

According to the lawyers, Giorgi Mujiri's statements were politically motivated.
