According to the Georgian Security Service, Russian occupation forces illegally detained a Georgian citizen near the village of Zemo Nikozi in Gori municipality.
According to the agency, as soon as the illegal detention became known, the State Security Service activated a hotline working through the EU observer mission. The information was provided to international partners and the co-chairs of the Geneva International Discussions.
According to them, the central government of Georgia is using all available means for the immediate release of the Georgian citizens illegally detained by the Russian occupying forces.
The man abducted by the occupants is Mamuka Chkhikvadze, and due to him being a former law enforcement officer, his life is in danger.
"His life is in danger because he is a former law enforcement officer, which is enough for the occupation regime to commit inhuman treatment against him," said David Katsarava, member of the anti-occupation movement "Dzala Ertobashia."
