"We will start a mass hunger strike until Mikheil Saakashvili is released" - Nika Melia

"We are starting a mass hunger strike," Nika Melia, chairman of the National Movement, said at the rally on Rustaveli Avenue.

He said the hunger strike will continue until Georgia's third president, Mikheil Saakashvili is released.

UNM members and supporters will begin the hunger strike on the Kakheti highway. They will move from the rally to the National Movement office.

"The more massive it is, the greater the consolidation, the more likely the result will be positive. The whole world needs to see that we don't tolerate the third president of the country being a hostage," said Nika Melia.
