The Ukrainian president has reacted to Mikheil Saakashvili's political imprisonment. In a conversation with journalists, Volodymyr Zelenski said that he was personally holding talks with the Georgian government about a third president.

According to him, active consultations are also being held with international partners.

The Ukrainian president has requested the involvement of Ukrainian doctors in Mikheil Saakashvili's treatment, but so far he has not reached an agreement with official Tbilisi.

Volodymyr Zelenski about the actions of the Ukrainian authorities in the context of the situation with Mikheil Saakashvili:

I will tell you frankly, I get letters from Mikheil Saakashvili. He receives information from me.
I had a conversation with the leadership of Georgia regarding Mr. Saakashvili. We both have met in dialogues and have had separate phone conversations.
I was approached so that his other half and his mother could get to visit him. And I called them and asked for it. They did not refuse us.
The only thing I would like is for our physicians to be involved in the process. There's a delay with that for now.
We are discussing that. I am also discussing these issues separately with Charles Michel (President of the European Council) and some other leaders.
