Mikheil Saakashvili will not be able to attend today's trial because of his deteriorating health

Another trial of Georgia's third president will take place today at Tbilisi City Court on the 7 November case. Mikheil Saakashvili will not be able to attend today's session as his health condition has deteriorated.

 According to lawyer Bek Basilaia, there will be 2 petitions in court today.

One motion has to do with violation of rights of Mikheil Saakashvili, the second is the defence demanding questioning of the two witnesses again.

"Today we will have two motions - the first relates to disclosure of very important information in the case confirming that Mikheil Saakashvili is being tortured in the Georgian penitentiary system. As for Mikheil Saakashvili, his rights have been fundamentally violated, and at the same time we will have a second, very important motion and the resolution of this motion will once again test what tasks are passed to the court at each particular stage. We are requesting the re-examination of the two witnesses questioned in this case. The only witnesses in this case that mention Mikheil Saakashvili," said Beka Basilaia.
