In my opinion, Mikheil Saakashvili is a prisoner of Putin - Giorgi Margvelashvili

In my opinion, the prisoner who is held here, is a prisoner of  Putin - this statement was made by the fourth President of Georgia after he left the Gori military hospital, where he met with Mikheil Saakashvili:

In my opinion, the prisoner who is held here, is a prisoner of Putin and we have to acknowledge that, the distinguished politician who is in a confrontation with Putin in Georgia, no matter how many clashes we have had in the past, is Putin's prisoner. This is my personal evaluation," said Giorgi Margvelashvili after the three-hour meeting.

Regarding the meeting held at the Gori Military Hospital, the fourth President said that the most difficult geopolitical challenges that Georgia is facing right now were discussed during the meeting and the opinion of the Commander in Chief is important in this process:

"We had a very productive meeting and there are several issues that I would like to share with the Georgian public and these issues are as follows: First of all, the main part of the meeting was about the security environment that Georgia is facing these days, the main actor of which is Russia.

The aggressive policy of the Russian Federation in the region, is directly linked to Ukraine, which is so important to Mikheil Saakashvili and to us all, is automatically reflected on the security environment in Georgia. We have therefore said that it is our duty, as former Presidents and former Commander-in-Chief of this country, to share this deep concern and to work with Ms. Salome to put an end to all these differences so that we will have the basis for unification," said Margvelashvili.
