Letter from Lyudmila Denisova to the Minister of Justice - Ukrainian Ombudsman requesting permission to visit Mikheil Saakashvili

Ukraine's public defender Lyudmyla Denysova has asked the Georgian justice minister for permission to visit Mikheil Saakashvili in the Rustavi prison. She also sent a letter to Rati Bregadze asking for qualified psychological and physical rehabilitation of the Ukrainian citizen.

The Ukrainian ombudsman also attached documents reflecting Saakashvili's state of health to the appeal to Bregadze.

Lyudmyla Denisova also informed members of National Movement who arrived in Kyiv about it and wrote on the social network that during the meeting with Levan Bezhashvili and Tamar Kordzaia they also spoke about the commission of inquiry which may be created in Georgian Parliament to investigate the facts of degrading and inhuman treatment of Mikheil Saakashvili.

"I informed the Georgian MPs that I have requested the Minister of Justice of Georgia to take measures for the qualified psychological and physical rehabilitation of the citizen of Ukraine Mikhail Saakashvili. I spoke about plans to visit Mikheil Saakashvili in Rustavi prison next month. I have also asked the Georgian justice minister for permission to do so," Lyudmyla Denysova wrote.
