Footage of the most important part of Saakashvili's abuse is not in the case - lawyers

Lawyers for Georgia's third president say the "hidden video footage" of his transfer from Rustavi prison to Gldani may be key evidence in the case of Mikheil Saakashvili's degrading treatment.

They say the footage posted was edited, and the penitentiary system removed 6.5 minutes of footage.

"The most important part of Saakashvili's violent treatment, inhuman treatment and treatment that equates to torture, is missing from the case files. There is about six and a half minutes of video that was either not filmed or was filmed and then was deleted. Nevertheless, the material we saw clearly points to crimes committed by high-ranking officials," said Dimitri Sadzaglishvili.
