We are dealing with political manipulation - Minister of Foreign Affairs David Zalkaliani told Palitranius about the criticism of the resolution in support of Ukraine, where the government did not mention Russian aggression at all.

We are dealing with political manipulations, and I would like to see the Parliament of Georgia adopting a single resolution by consensus. The main pathos of the text introduced by the government was that our position is to prevent the situation from further deterioration, to take measures to prevent it, and to do everything possible to prevent war, an invasion of a sovereign country, and a violation of its fundamental international law. To choose our alliances to support territorial integrity, sovereignty, an open door policy, sovereign law - all this is stated in the resolution. We are not afraid to take a clear stance - the facts prove it.

I would like to remind that this Government has done a lot not only politically, but also legally in order to give us a document where the term occupation is used and everything would be called by its name, and the Russian Federation is defined as the occupant country acting on the occupied territories. We did it in Strasbourg.
It is in the legal decision of the Strasbourg Court and not only in politics, this decision is even stronger than a political statement. The pathos of this resolution should have been precisely to stop the escalation of the situation and prevent a war," Zalkaliani said.
